A note on hydration. 07/11/2011
Here we are, season of bathing suits, cookouts, and intense workouts. Along with that this year is some extreme heat! Remember to replenish your cells by drinking more water and consult your nutritionist, doctor, or favorite holistic resource about adding minerals or other supplements to boost your energy and hydration. During the summer months we often forget that our bodies are expelling a great deal of moisture. It is important for the proper functioning of our tissues to get re hydrated. Muscle tissue has a hard time keeping up with our activity when there is no water to nourish them. Water is required for chemical communication in the body. This communication is what allows muscles to contract, relax, and stay healthy. Keep in mind that water cannot be absorbed in the body without the proper nutrient components. Minerals are required by the body to actually use the water that we put into it. Lacking minerals in the body, water that you ingest will mostly be eliminated with out penetrating the cells.
